Congratulations on winning the election for "A" shift shop steward.
Many thanks to the 27 people that bothered to turn out for me.

Sorry to see you didn't get in Andy. Although the union has done itself any favours as it was very unclear who could or could not vote for the A shift rep. The union needs to do more in commucating such matters to its members as this was certainly unclear here.
Keep up the good work with the blog though its great to see info coming out from the union and from other independent sources.
At a time when dock workers are losing their benefits and have concerns about the company moving to a situation where compulsory redundancies may become necessary, I was outraged at how few people bothered to vote. Andy has put everything into his role as workforce rep and spends a large amount of time updating this blog and passing on information and dealing with things he shouldn't have to, things like the mess room being dirty, or toilets not working. And this is the thanks he gets. 27 votes. If I were him I'd tell my colleagues to shove it. I believe he'll rise above it though and continue his role as workforce rep. It's the union's loss, he'd have made a great shop steward.
